KITU PARIS: epic journey in Nepal
What if we boarded a romantic ship where France and Nepal mix their influences? Kitu Paris is an invitation to a change of scenery around a commendable ethic. After its French and Indian collection, the promising young brand returns to its first Nepalese inspirations. Journey to the heart of an epic brimming with authenticity.
A trip to the other side of the world, imperishable memories and an obvious inspiration: these are the determining elements to create a singular clothing brand. At a time when fast fashion is as much a controversy as it is a source of sadly loyal customers for its low prices, Jade Bégué swims against the tide and opts for slow fashion. Her vision of fashion? Responsible, sustainable and transparent.
The source at the other end of the world
During a trip in 2017 to Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, the designer discovered a local production that filled her idea box with sincere aspirations. Kitu is then born from it. A first collection is born in 2018. Since then, the adventure never ceases to intertwine natural fibers and eco-responsible know-how around a clear benevolence.
Produce little but produce well
Three sweaters, three scarves, three different colors: the Nepalese collection is simple and effective. Inspired by the Cholo, traditional Nepalese clothing, the production is local and homemade. Made by a community of women with a unique know-how, the collection is exclusively made from wool. Each sweater is so pampered that it takes nearly 3 days of knitting to make. Here the value is not measured in price, but in time invested.
